1. Once you have sectioned the hair and have the part ready, secure the rest of your hair up and out of your way with a hair clip or elastic. You will be clipping the hair extensions at the root where you have parted your hair.

Now, unlike in this image, where the hair is being clipped into the natural hair as is, you want to take some hairspray and a fine tooth comb and tease or backcomb the roots where the clip will be applied. Lightly spray the section of hair or spray your comb and tease or backcomb the roots. This is going to give the clip something to grab onto, giving a better and more secure hold.
